Our previous blog post was about marketing predictions that fizzled in 2014 and we are hoping the trends we will share for 2015 are here to stay! Just like in any industry, trends surface throughout the year, some become a trend whereas others are just a fad and soon fade away. We came across a list of five web trends that Matt Fennell thinks will become popular this year:
It’s so easy for any business to connect with clients both locally and internationally; it is all due to today’s advanced digital technology. With the holidays right around the corner, many companies assume their clients will be disconnected from their business and therefore they don’t focus on generating new business. However, Muhammad Ali has put together seven strategies to attract clients to your website and increase business this holiday season!
In recent months we’ve seen so many videos go viral. Videos help capture memories we want to relive over and over again and help us easily share these memories with our loved ones. Josh Tolan mentions, “190 million Americans watched an average of 397 million online videos in the month of January alone.” He goes on to share, “For employers and recruiters, it’s not hard to see the potential value of video content. It can give recruiters a comprehensive idea of a candidate’s professionalism, poise and passion. Employers can also benefit from creating videos to show off their company culture and attract top recruits.”
Content marketing is bigger than it has ever been. Some people think it’s a temporary trend, but content marketing has always been around; it just has evolved over time. Drew Hendricks said, “One factor motivating the trend is YouTube’s continued popularity, with the video-sharing site having been called the second most popular search engine. Each month, YouTube processes more than three million searches,” and also said, “Marketers, realizing the potential audience for video-based social sharing, have begun to find ways to use video as part of their content marketing plan. But creating professional-quality videos isn’t an easy task for an amateur videographer.”
Social media feeds are filled with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge videos. Many of us have poured ice cold water filled in a bucket over our heads, plenty of us have donated money to the charity and hopefully most of us have done both. Robert Tuchman shares, “As a board member for the ALS Greater New York Chapter, I have had a front row seat for the evolution of the now famous #ALSIceBucketChallenge” and how social media can impact a business almost overnight. The IceBucketChallenge, when it’s all said and done, might just be the most viral post of all time. While you can’t always replicate an idea with the same results, there are some important take-aways for all entrepreneurs.”
Often time marketing efforts and results go unnoticed and sometime even unappreciated. Creating content for marketing collateral is not a one-time use situation, whether it’s a blog post, a brochure or even an advertisement. Marketing content goes a long way regardless of the marketing channel. According to Margie Clayman, “marketing content does not have to be “one and done.” Here are some ways to make the most of your marketing material.”
Majority of business have some sort of social presence. Some corporations use one platform whereas others utilize the most popular ones including Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. However, “YouTube has evolved to become an extremely important marketing tool as video sharing now provides a great opportunity for advertising. The best part of it all is that uploading videos is free,” according to Adam Rowles. Here are 10 tips Rowles shares to utilize YouTube for your business needs:
Often times people do not realize how our mobile devices can be used as a, “portable television studio,” as John Nemo likes to refer iPhones as. Nemo says, “We now have the ability anytime we want to broadcast our videos to the entire world, for free. The barrier to entry and the cost associated with creating videos has never been lower. So why are so few businesses taking advantage of it?” This is a question our Next Level Marketing Communications team always seems to ask. The task is simple and results are instant!
We’ve all heard of 3D movies and 3D images, but never 3D tablets. Well, thanks to Google, they will introduce us to the newest technology trend. According to Charlie Osborne, “Google is working on a 7-inch tablet capable of capturing 3D images in high definition. According to the Wall Street Journal, the new mobile device is based on technology developed within Project Tango. Project Tango is part of Google's Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) group. The project has been developing technology surrounding 3D imagery. Specifically, Project Tango is an Android platform for mobile devices designed to track 3D motion and objects, creating a map in real-time of the environment.”
There are so many marketing tactics that companies are now leveraging to produce more business, generate more traffic to their website and engage more candidates and clients. However, there is one powerful marketing tool that works like magic and that is videos! This innovative approach captures a large audience in a matter of seconds and for recruiting purposes, has caught on like wildfire! It is a preferred medium of information because thanks to technology, videos can now be seen in the palm of your hands!
